Which Colours for Janmashtami?
The pairings devotees ask for most
Yellow Krishna & Red Radha
The most traditional pairing. Yellow is Pitambar — the colour associated with Krishna in scripture — while red carries the warmth and auspiciousness linked with Radha Rani. This is the combination most families choose for Janmashtami night.
Blue Krishna & Pink Radha
Blue reflects Krishna's own complexion as it is described in the texts, and soft pink complements it without competing. A gentler pairing that photographs particularly well under diya light.
Gold & Cream Zari Sets
When you want the mandir to look grand rather than colourful. Heavy zari on cream or ivory suits large home temples and reads beautifully in photographs taken at midnight aarti.
Orange & Magenta
A brighter, more festive choice popular in western India. Works especially well if your mandir has a lot of marigold decoration, since the tones sit together naturally.
Sizing a Pair — What to Watch For
Ordering for two idols is slightly different from ordering a single dress. In most household sets Radha Ji stands a little taller than Krishna Ji, sometimes by an inch or more, and the two garments in a jodi set are cut to allow for that difference.
Measure both idols separately, base to the top of the head. If the heights are close, order by the larger of the two. If they differ by more than two inches, mention both measurements in the order notes — we check pair sizing before dispatch and will flag it if the set will not sit properly.
